HISTORY OF THE COLLEGE

Sri Puspham college is an accomplished dream of the Vandayar family particularly of Late Rao Bahadur Sri.A.Veeriya Vandayar and his illustrious brother late Sri A.Krishnaswamy Vandayar. Started in the year 1956,it has grown from strength to strength and is marching towards the goal of Deemed University status.The college  

Is situated in a sprawling sylvan surroundings of 85 acres.
Is in Thanjavur-Nagapattinam main road 12 kms east of thanjavur.
was renamed in 1972 as A. Veeriya Vandayar Memorial Sri Puspham College in fond and fitting memory of it's Founder-President.
has been accredited with 4 star status by the N.A.A.C.
has 19 years of rich experience in the Autonomous set up.
has 17 full-fledged departments in traditional subjects as well as modern subjects like Computer Science ,Microbiology ,Biotechnology and Business Administration.
has been imparting our National languages Hindi as an alternative language under Part-1 from 1977-78.
