The Department of Economics is offering U.G., P.G., M.Phil.,and Ph.D., Programmes. Boys are admitted in U.G ., & P.G., programmes. As for research in various fields of Economics, so far 175 M.Phil., scholars have successfully completed the research programme, 12 research scholars have been awarded with Ph.D. degrees. At Present 8 scholars are doing their Ph.D. research. 

The Department has successfully completed a number of minor projects. Staffed with 10 faculty members with research degrees the Department is facilitating the research programmes in various branches of Economics such as Economics problems. The Library for Economics is one of the best libraries in South India with very rare Volumes and Journals.
