The Department
has been offering B.Com., Course since 1968-69 and upgraded
as a post-Graduate Department in the year 1976-77. The
Department has been elevated to M.Phil., research level in
Commerce from 1995-96 onwards. It has a total strength of
909 students. There are 14 approved members of the staff and
another 14 members who are working in Self-Financing
courses.
In addition to usual B.Com., course, the Department offers
B.Com., specialisation in TAX PROCEDURE AND PRACTICES under
the vocationalisation of graduate course with UGC financial
support. |

The Department
also offers a con-current diploma courses entitled
"OFFICE MANAGEMENT AND SECRETARIAL PRACTICES"
under self-financing scheme since 1995-96 to all students.
Share Investment Management is also taught as an extra
credit Certificate course since 1993-94. The Department
offers office Management as as extra credit paper to all
non-commerce students.
The Department gives due attention to the following
fields research orientation, viz., CO-OPERATION,
BANKING, SMALL SCALE INDUSTRIES, RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT. |
