This
programme is a blessing in disguise for all the students who were
really bright and could not afford to attend summer camps due to
economic reasons. This selection has kindled the aptitude of every
pupil for all round development.
The
course director, Dr. C. Lakshmiranasimhan, with his team of committed
stafff designed the programme so well that the students were engaged
from 6.00 A.M. to 10.00 P.M. in various activities. Infact the students
never felt fatigue even on a single day. At this age group the students
especially girls were not sent out without escort, Boys and girls
who have never left their parents and lived in a camp surprisingly
learnt easily to live a corporate life due to the meticulous individual
attention given by Dr. A Panneerselvam and others who were always
with the children making the campus into another home. Individual
attention to every student is the secret of the success of the programme.
On every saturday, the children were taken to important sight seeing
places. On every sunday, in the morning hours, they learnt some
hobby. In the afternoon, they were allowed to be visited by their
parents which kept them jubilant.

They
could explain the week's programmes and progress to their parents.
Infact it was a happy occasion for both the children and the parents.
This entire residential programme was arranged for one month in
the month of May, for three years from 1999 to 2001. The students
selected for this programme eagerly awaited the month of May. How
nice it was to hear and learn the activities of these children!.
The programme was conducted in AVVM Sri Pushpam College (Autonomous)
Poondi. Kalvikavalar Shriman K. Thulasiah Vandayar, the Secretary
and Correspondent was the inspiring angel. We were very happy that
the children of this district were with us, for three summers. feed
back from the students is very heartening. They had carried back
the 30 days message to their home on the reopening of the school.
The
entire programme was conducted in four stages.
